SPEAKERS

Itamar Zabari

Sky and Space path in Poland started in June 2016, our first project was to prove that Nanosatellites can be used for telecom purposes, we had seven people and yet we managed to develop and deploy the proof of concept within 12 months. We wrote the required software for the nanosatellites, ground devices and even a mobile app we called Chatellite.

Three satellites were launched with our software, and we successfully proved that nanosatellites could be used for telecom purposes. Since then we grew and changed our focus to IoT oriented constellations. And our goal is to deliver the next cost-effective IoT oriented nanosatellites constellation. Sky and Space is designing the software for the Nanosatellites, the ground terminal and the ground infrastructure. Sky and Space have received the support of ESA and the Polish Space Policy unit and is now working with ESA and WUST to receive a grant to develop a revolutionary modem. We are now looking to extend our team with the goal of launching 16 nanosatellites in Q1 of 2023.

Marcin Ickiewicz

Software Engineer

IHe is a senior Python developer / DevOps engineer that loves automating the world. He is from Cracow and he started working for SAS 2.5 years ago. His mail role is developing a framework written in Python that enables testing of our solutions. The second role is using it to provide continuous integration for our software.

I was attracted by the possibility of working with a satellite industry. As a curious person I was wondering how things are done to ensure that a satellite mission is successful. My biggest achievement was creating a software solution that enabled testing that includes multiple systems at once. Since I've started working in SAS I know that it is a challenging environment where you are improving your skills every day and you have the best people you can learn from.I can recommend working here for anyone that wants to find his potential and do non-trivial tasks that may not be solved yet. It's a place where modern software meets a group of enthusiasts, who want to do their best to send code into space.

He is a Java developer working on ground infrastructure systems in Sky And Space, he started back in 2018 in Kraków

I joined because I was excited about an opportunity to work on a space-related project, I was happy to join an experienced team that could teach me a lot. These are extremely smart people, motivated and focused on a goal. The atmosphere created in SAS and the way of working here were the best I have ever seen and that is the thing that kept me here. I can grow and have an impact on what we do.It’s a place for people who want to be excited about the product they build and work in an environment that is not disturbing their process.

As one of the very first members of SAS, I took many different roles in the company. Currently overlooking development work for both ground and space segments. The project itself was the main reason I joined the company, working on products dedicated to nanosatellites is both challenging and very rewarding.
My interest did not change since the beginning and I enjoy the whole process of software development at SAS. Because of the flat company structure and startup-like operation, the project allows me to fulfill my interests in different areas and have a real impact on the final product. Working environment at SAS can be described as very open, direct and transparent. Ideas and issues are addressed as soon as possible in order to make the environment both more efficient and friendly.Working at SAS is quite challenging but also rewarding. You should consider joining if you would like to develop your technical abilities, work with up to date technology stack and have a real impact on the product. It's easy to find your place here, but make sure to be open minded and proactive.
